Psychiatrist Dr. Al Carlisle, whose work is highlighted in Oxygen's new series "Violent Minds: Killers on Tape," was so curious about the motivations of murderers, he decided that the only way to get answers would be to ask the killers themselves. So, for years, the psychiatrist interviewed convicts serving time in a Utah state prison, recording some of these conversations to help him "discover what drives a seemingly normal person to become obsessed with murder, exhibit violent tendencies and psychopathic behaviors," the press release stated.

He later spoke with some of the convict's families and friends for further insight, informing his understanding of how a person turns into a killer.

The tapes of his conversations were long thought to be lost, but Dr. Carlisle's family later found them following his death in 2018. Now, the doctor's work is being highlighted in Oxygen's newest series "Violent Minds: Killers on Tape," which features his interviews with Ted Bundy, Arthur Gary Bishop and more.

Viewers will be treated to seven 60-minute episodes and two supersized 90-minute episodes, one of which details Dr. Carlisle's conversations with Bundy.

If this piqued your interest, tune in to the new series when it premieres on Sunday, April 2 at 7/6c on Oxygen. If that doesn't work for you, don't worry — there are so many different ways to watch Oxygen. Here's how:
