What is Lady of the Dunes: Hunting the Cape Cod Killer about?

Lady of the Dunes: Hunting the Cape Cod Killer dives into a vicious killing that, according to the show’s official description, “haunted and stymied even the most seasoned members” of the coastal town’s police department and coincides with one man’s tireless search to locate his birth mother.

“In 1974, the idyllic and close-knit community of Provincetown was stunned when the body of an unidentified woman was discovered in a remote area of the dunes,” the release states. “Over the next 50 years, investigators worked tirelessly to identify her, relentless in their pursuit of her killer and her name.”

Movement in the case in recent years was widely covered by Oxygen.com.

Lady of the Dunes was announced in May 2024 as part of Oxygen’s exciting fall-winter lineup. The story was noted for its status as an enduring legend filled with cultural intrigue, a case frequently revisited by citizen sleuths and dogged investigators alike.

“The twists and turns of the Lady of the Dunes mystery tell the story of a hidden family, a suspect’s violent past, and a detective willing to sacrifice her career for answers,” according to the new release.

But would it be enough to solve the mystery?
