Third Suspect Arrested In Connection With Fatal Shooting Of Rapper XXXTentacion
Robert Allen, 22, was booked into jail in Dodge County, Georgia, on a warrant from Broward County, Florida.
A third suspect has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of rapper XXXTentacion.
The 20-year-old arist, whose legal name was Jahseh Onfroy, was shot and killed while leaving a Deerfield Beach, Florida, motorcycle dealership on June 18.
A grand jury indicted four suspects in relation to Onfroy’s killing last week, according to CNN: Dedrick Devonshay Williams, 22; Michael Boatwright, 22; Trayvon Newsome, 20; and Robert Allen, 22. Williams and Boatwright are being held without bond, CNN reports.
The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the third suspect, Robert Allen, on Wednesday, the Associated Press reports. Allen, a resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was booked into jail in Dodge County, Georgia, on a warrant from Broward County, Florida.
Authorities were able to track down Allen after receiving information that he was in Eastman, Georgia, and possibly staying with his sister, task force supervisor Deputy U.S. Marshal John Edgar told the Miami Herald. Officers surveilled the sister’s house, and she cooperated when police came to arrest Allen, Edgar said. The arrest was “uneventful,” he added.
The fourth suspect, Newsome, is still at large, according to AP.
Prior to his death, Onfroy had withdrawn $50,000 in cash before visiting a motorsports store, according to court documents obtained by CNN. Video footage and cell phone photos taken the day of his killing reportedly show multiple suspects holding large amounts of cash.
All four have been charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and armed robbery with a firearm, CNN reports.
