Safaree Samuels Accuses Nicki Minaj Of Domestic Violence: ‘You Cut Me And I Almost Died’
“I had to lie and tell them I was trying to kill myself,” tweeted Safaree Samuels, after Nicki Minaj said that he stole her credit cards to pay for prostitutes.
Ex-lovers Nicki Minaj and Safaree Samuels have once again dragged their romantic issues into the limelight — though this latest chapter in the decade-long drama has seemingly taken a turn for the sinister.
Samuels had previously alleged that the “Anaconda” rapper inflicted physical and emotional abuse on him throughout their 12-year relationship before they ended things in 2014.
On Tuesday, he threw more fuel on the fire.
“Remember the night you cut me and i almost died the police and ambulance had to take me out the crib on a stretcher and I had to lie and tell them I was trying to kill myself so they wouldn't take you to jail,” he wrote during a Tuesday Twitter tirade.
Samuels’ tweets were posted in response to portions of Minaj’s Tuesday interview with Hot 97 host Funkmaster Flex.
During an 80-minute conversation the rapper, born Onika Tanya Maraj, opened up about the issues she and Samuels faced during their time together.
Flex also asked Minaj about Samuels’ criticism of her songwriting abilities.
"I write not only raps, but I write songs," Minaj said of her discography. "When you listen to 'Chun-Li,' when you listen to 'Coco Chanel,' when you listen to 'Good Form,' these records are written entirely by me. These records are not even a chorus given to me ... I've always been doing this.”
Minaj went on to throw massive amounts of shade Samuels’ way, highlighting some particularly unsavory behavior during their romantic relationship.
“For one person to do something like this to me out of sheer weakness and passive aggression and just hatefulness and vindictiveness, because you got caught shittin’ on a person that was taking care of you for years and years,” she said. “Because you got caught shittin’ on a person who was taking care of you while you were paying for prostitutes and stealing their credit cards, and doing all types of dumb-ass shit.”
As Samuels took to social media to address his former flame’s explosive on-air comments, Minaj also continued her spiel in the Twittersphere. While she did not respond to Samuels’ accusation that she cut him, she did reiterate her ex’s alleged credit card theft.
“U stole my card & told me you thought it was an account with ‘free money’ that I didn’t know about. On God. God will strike you down & more for lying,” she wrote. “Ha! Stop saying u packed & left ! On Jesus u came to my house CRYING BEGGING to go w|me to Europe to the EMA’s. I said NO DUMMY.”
