Nicki Minaj Reportedly Won’t Press Charges Over Fashion Week Fight With Cardi B
Video of the incident shows Cardi B taking off her shoe and throwing it in Nicki Minaj’s direction.
Nicki Minaj will reportedly opt to not press charges following an altercation with Cardi B at a Fashion Week party over the weekend.
The two rappers, long rumored to be feuding, nearly came to blows at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party on Friday night in New York City, People reports. In fan-captured video of the incident, Cardi B, 25, can be heard remarking, “Bitch come here,” apparently to Minaj, who remained separated from Cardi thanks to a number of security guards.
In one video, Cardi can be seen removing her shoe and then throwing it in Minaj’s direction, yelling, “I will f--k your ass up!” Cardi also made references to her newborn daughter Kulture during the altercation, though the exact nature of how her daughter was involved in her beef with Minaj is unclear. The “I Like It” rapper was later escorted out of the party, walking barefoot in a torn dress and sporting a sizeable bump on her head, the source of which is currently unknown.
TMZ reports that Minaj has opted not to press charges because neither she nor anyone on her team was injured during the altercation. No arrests were made following the incident, People reports, and a public information officer for the New York Police Department confirmed to the outlet that “at this point in time we don’t have a complaint on either side.”
Minaj has yet to comment on what happened, but directly following the incident, she posed for photos outside the Plaza Hotel, People reports.
Cardi seemingly addressed her beef with Minaj in a lengthy Instagram post early Saturday morning, detailing a long list of grievances with an unnamed person but never mentioning Minaj by name. This person, Cardi claimed, “sneak diss[ed]” her, in addition to threatening to stop working with other artists if they worked with Cardi.
According to Cardi’s post, the breaking point seemed to be when her unnamed enemy “[chose] to like comments about [her] as a mother,” lending credence to the theory that Cardi took offense to Minaj seemingly liking a tweet about Cardi B’s support of rapper Kodak Black.
“I’ve worked to hard and come too far to let anybody f--k with my success!!!! Bitches talk all that sh-t in they raps but in real life they p---y,” she wrote. “This sh-t really is for entertainment!!”
