Woman Allegedly Cut Off Husband’s Penis As A Message Against ‘Sinning’ And ‘Fornication,’ According to 911 Call
Victoria Frabutt allegedly told the emergency dispatcher she used a rose pruner to hack off her husband’s “favorite part of himself” but seemed disappointed there wasn't "enough blood to make the sign of the cross, or write sinner, or anything like that."
A North Carolina woman cut off her husband’s penis with a rose pruner to serve as a message against “sinning against God and fornication,” according to a 911 call she allegedly placed the morning of the attack.
Victoria Frabutt, 56—who is facing charges of malicious castration and kidnapping for the alleged mutilation early Tuesday morning—initially called 911 to say that someone at the home was in need of spiritual assistance before adding that the person was also experiencing some “physical pain,” according to local station WCTI.
When asked what was causing the physical pain, Frabutt responded, “that would be part of the message for sinning against God and fornication.”
Authorities have not officially announced any motive in the case.
In the 911 call, Frabutt allegedly went on to say that her husband, who she referred to as her soon to be ex-husband, was not seriously bleeding.
“Like I said, I couldn’t even get enough blood to make the sign of the cross, or write sinner, or anything like that,” she said, according to WITN.
Carteret County deputies said in a statement that Frabutt’s husband, James Frabutt, 61, later told authorities his wife had tied him up and forcibly cut off his penis. In her discussion with the dispatcher, however, she was evasive about what part of her husband had been injured.
When asked where he had been bleeding from, she allegedly told the 911 operator in the 13-minute call, “That would be his favorite part of himself.”
She went into greater detail about the alleged weapon she used—a pruner—which she described as “good for pruning roses.”
She also said in the recording that she had put a towel on the injury and told her husband he wouldn’t die because “you’re going to carry a message.”
Authorities arrived about 12 minutes after the 911 call was placed, WCTI reports.
Authorities were able to find the severed member at the scene and immediately put it on ice, the sheriff’s office said.
James Frabutt was transported to the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville; however, it’s not known whether doctors were able to reattach the penis.
A tearful Victoria Frabutt appeared in court for the first time Wednesday. She sobbed when addressing the judge and kept her head down for most of the appearance, WITN reports.
Her bond, which was initially set at $100,000, has been increased to $500,000.
