Mom Allegedly Said 'Demons Told Her To Sacrifice' Her 8-Year-Old Son
Tisha Sanchez faces capital murder charges after her son was found smothered to death in an RV behind an Irving, Texas home.
A Texas mother accused of killing her 8-year-old son blamed demons for the murder, authorities say.
Police in Irving say that after receiving a call Sunday morning about an unconscious person at a home, they discovered a dead 8-year-old boy.
His mother, Tisha Sanchez, 30, was arrested and charged with capital murder.
"The motive for this murder is still unclear," police wrote.
An arrest warrant though, obtained by NBC Dallas Fort-Worth, reveals that Sanchez allegedly told relative "demons told her to sacrifice her son." She also allegedly told that relative that they “needed to forgive her” for the killing.
The boy was found in bed in an RV behind the house after being smothered by a pillow, according to NBC Dallas Fort-Worth.
Dallas County Jail records show Sanchez also was charged with resisting arrest and assaulting a public servant in a separate incident from 2018 that also involved alleged violence toward her son.
Police were called to a Ross clothing store after someone reported a mother dragging her son around, according to the NBC affiliate. Sanchez was taken to a nearby hospital for mental health treatment. It is not clear how long she was in that hospital. Child services got involved and investigated. They interviewed the boy who told them he had a good mother and the case was closed, NBC Dallas Fort-Worth reports.
Sanchez’s bond has been set at $2 million. It’s not clear if she has a lawyer who can speak on her behalf at this time.
