Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino Spends Last Christmas With New Wife Before Heading To Jail
"Jersey Shore" star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino tells fans to "treat thyself" before heading to prison in a few weeks.
Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino enjoyed a festive holiday season just weeks before he's slated to begin his prison sentence for tax evasion.
Sorrentino posted a photo of himself and new wife Lauren Sorrentino in front a Christmas tree on Instagram, writing in the post, "Merry Christmas From The Situations & don't forget to treat thyself."
This holiday season marks Sorrentino's last few weeks at home before he's headed to prison to begin serving an eight-month sentence for tax evasion, after pleading guilty to the charge in January, according to E! News.
The newlywed, who got married to his college sweetheart in November, has been ordered by the Bureau of Prisons to report to prison by January 15.
The eight-month sentence was handed out Oct. 5, along with a requirement for Sorrentino to complete 500 hours of community service, Fox News reports.
He was also fined $10,000 in addition to the $123,913 in restitution he's already paid.
Sorrentino's brother, Marc Sorrentino, pleaded guilty to aiding in the preparation of a false and fradulent tax return and was sentenced to 24 months in prison, US Weekly reports.
Since both brothers' sentencing in October, the reality star has been enjoying his remaining time before prison with family.
He and Lauren, who he dated before gaining popularity on the reality television show "Jersey Shore," later reconnected after the series ended and were married in a beautiful ceremony on Nov.1.
Sorrentino has called his new bride his "best friend" and "better half," according to People.
"She makes me a better person. I'm so excited that she's in my life," he said.
He proposed to his wife earlier this year on Valentine's Day, which was featured on "Jersey Shore Family Vacation."
This month also marked three years of sobriety for Sorrentino.
