Naked Man Allegedly Breaks Into 13-Year Old Girl's Bedroom And Masturbates
Police say the suspect, 21-year-old Jonathan Emmanuel Ward, had targeted multiple girls from a local dance studio after tracking them through social media.
A naked man broke into a teen girl's bedroom in California and began masturbating while she slept, police say.
Home surveillance video captured the suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Jonathan Emmanuel Ward, walking naked through the family's home at around 2:30 a.m. in the morning on Aug. 30. At one point, he looks directly at the camera "and placed his finger over his lips as if signaling to be quiet," City of Fontana Police said.
He then made his way into a 13-year-old girl's bedroom and allegedly began to masturbate.
"The victim awoke to find the suspect in her bedroom looming over her," police said in a statement.
The victim screamed and Ward allegedly ran out of the home.
The Fontana Police Investigation Unit was able to identify Ward "through departmental resources" and arrested him at his Fontana home.
Police believe there may be other victims and said Ward had apparently become infatuated with several young girls who took lessons at a dance studio in the Inland Empire. He was able to find out where the girls lived by tracking their social media posts and using photos they posted to determine their location.
Police said Ward would allegedly go into the backyards of his victims' homes and occasionally enter the homes.
One mother told news channel KABC her daughter had also been targeted but the suspect had been unable to enter the house because of family's dog.
"He admitted that he came to my residence on several occasions and he was looking through our windows," she told the news station. "He attempted entry into my home, but I have a dog inside and my doors are always maintained locked, so he never made it inside, but he did peek through the windows somewhere around 2 o'clock in the morning, which is right around the same time the other crime was committed."
Ward is being held at the West Valley Detention Center. A $1,000,000 bail enhancement was issued in the case after police said there was a similar arrest made in 2017.
