Chris Brown has been released from custody in Paris after being detained earlier this week in relation to a rape accusation, and he’s reportedly planning to sue the woman responsible.

Brown, 29, was arrested in the French capital on suspicion of aggravated rape and drug violations on Monday, but was released Tuesday night without being charged, the Huffington Post reports. Preceding his arrest, an unnamed woman he’d met at a French nightclub accused him of raping her in a hotel room. Now, Brown is planning to sue his accuser for making allegedly “slanderous” claims against him, according to a tweet  from his attorney, Raphael Chiche.

“Chris Brown is free. No lawsuits were filed against him,” reads Chiche’s tweet, as translated by the outlet. “He vigorously challenges the charges against him. A complaint for slanderous denunciation will be filed tomorrow with the public prosecutor of Paris.”

In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, Chiche confirmed that Brown had been released but stated that his client is still under investigation by French authorities.

“The charges against Chris Brown have not been dropped and investigations are still going on but Chris Brown has not been sued by Prosecution,” he said.

Brown took to Instagram after his release to slam his accuser in a post that’s since been deleted, according to USA Today.

“I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR...... THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP! NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISPRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!” he reportedly wrote.

He may have deleted his initial statement, but Brown also posted screenshots of various articles highlighting that he was released without being charged.

A 24-year-old woman told police that she met Brown and his friends at a club on the night of Jan. 15-16, according to French outlet Closer. Brown’s accuser said that he took her back to his hotel room at the Mandarin Oriental, where he raped her; she said a friend of his, as well as a bodyguard, also abused her, according to the outlet.

Brown and the two other individuals were detained on Monday while prosecutors weighed whether to bring charges against them or release them.
