‘A Nightmare That Came True’: Ex-Boyfriend Allegedly Runs Over Mother Of 4 Repeatedly In Front Of Her Kids
Linda Holguin's 14-year-old daughter said she watched her mother die and saw track marks on her face. Ben Leuk was arrested the next day.
A California mother of four is dead after her family says she was run over multiple times with a truck in front of her children, allegedly by her former boyfriend.
Deputies responded Monday afternoon to an assault with a deadly weapon in Nuevo, an unincorporated area of Riverside County. They found Linda Holguin, 35, dead in front of her home.
“Upon arrival, deputies found a female deceased in the roadway ... and a second female injured,” the Riverside Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. The injured party was Holguin’s mother.
Bun Leuk, the 44-year-old suspect and Holguin’s ex-boyfriend, had already fled the area before being arrested the next day, authorities say.
Holguin’s family says Leuk used his Toyota Tacoma truck to run over Holguin repeatedly after they got into a heated argument, NBC Los Angeles reports.
"I hope you turn yourself in 'cause you killed my daughter and you hurt me," Frances Rios, Holguin's mother, told the station, speaking directly to Leuk before he was arrested.
Rios says that she watched Leuk run over her daughter four times, all while Holguin’s children were present, including one who Rios says was in the truck with Luek at the time. She said that Luek was the father of Holguin's youngest.
"I had to stand right here and watch her die," 14-year-old Patience, one of the victims' kids, told NBC Los Angeles as she stood in front of her home.
The station ran bits of a cell phone video that captured the fatal incident. It's shaky and contains audio of what seems to be a child or children screaming.
“I was just right there, devastated,” Patience said. “That’s not a position I want to be in, to see my mother on the floor, already gone.”
She told CBS Los Angeles she saw tire marks on the mother’s face, calling the tragedy “a nightmare that came true.”
Holguin and Leuk had a history of physical assault allegations and restraining orders, CBS Los Angeles reports.
It’s not clear if Leuk has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf.
