'You're Not Doing Your F---ing Job!' Mom Yelled At Daughter As They Allegedly Killed Pregnant Teen To Steal Her Baby
Clarisa Figueroa and her daughter Desiree Figueroa are accused of killing Marlen Ochoa-Lopez for the baby in her womb so they could name it after a son Clarisa lost.
New, disturbing details are emerging about the middle-aged woman who allegedly faked her own pregnancy for months before killing a pregnant teen for her baby along with her daughter’s assistance.
The body of 19-year-old Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, who was reported in the media earlier as Marlen Ochoa-Uriostegui, was discovered Wednesday dumped in a garbage can. That trash can was located behind the home of 46-year-old Clarisa Figueroa, who had claimed to have just given birth to the baby boy, according to The Chicago Sun Times. Ochoa-Lopez’ newborn baby boy had been cut out of Ochoa-Lopez’s womb. That child is in grave condition, having had suffered brain injuries during the incident.
Figueroa and her daughter Desiree Figueroa, 24, were arrested and charged with murder. Prosecutors believe that the mother and daughter had been planning the murder for weeks, and developed a relationship with the victim through a Facebook group where they exchanged baby clothes.
A third suspect, Piotr Bobak, 40, has been charged with concealment of a crime. He is Clarisa’s boyfriend.
Seven months ago, Clarisa announced that she was pregnant despite the fact she reportedly had her fallopian tubes tied, the Chicago Tribune reports. Her alleged fake pregnancy plan was elaborate and she even posted photos on Facebook of an ultrasound and a decorated a nursery room in her home.
Police said at a press conference held last week that in 2017, Clarisa lost a son, who was in his 20s, to natural causes. During her alleged fake pregnancy, Clarisa said she would name her unborn son after her son that died.
On Friday, in attempt to keep the suspects behind bars, prosecutors went into grisly details about the murder. They claim Desiree distracted the 9-months-pregnant teen with a photo album.
“As the victim looked at the photo album, defendant Clarisa wrapped a cable around her hands and then wrapped it around the victim's neck from behind her,” Assistant State's Attorney James Murphy said Friday.
Law enforcement found that coaxial cable at the suspects’ property.
Prosecutors said the younger Figueroa gave a full video-recorded confession about the murder in which she allegedly revealed the her mom told her she wasn’t putting in enough work, the Chicago Tribune reports.
“You’re not doing your f------ job,” prosecutors alleged the mom told her daughter. At this point, the teen had tried to remove the cord around her neck but Desiree allegedly removed her fingers from the cord, one by one.
Then, Clarisa allegedly got on top of Ochoa-Lopez and strangled her for five minutes. During that struggle, Ochoa-Lopez reportedly reached out to touch the nose of the defendant's dog. After it was believed that the teen was dead, Clarisa allegedly cut the baby boy out of the teen with a butcher knife.
Police have said the teen had gone to her home believing she was going to retrieve baby clothes for the baby that was growing inside her. She has reportedly gotten baby clothes from the suspect before.
Clarisa allegedly even started a GoFundMe campaign for the recovering baby she is accused of cutting out of Ochoa-Lopez.
“Words really cannot express how disgusting and thoroughly disturbing these allegations are,” Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said at last week’s press conference.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family is mourning the loss of a the dead mother-to-be.
“My daughter was a very joyful girl,” Ochoa-Lopez’s mother, Raquel Uriostegui told the Detroit News. “She had a lot of dreams. She found humor in everything. And I know now she is at peace wherever she is. She’s not suffering anymore.”
A DNA test showed that the elder Figueroa was not the child’s mom, law enforcement announced last week. They believe that Ochoa-Lopez was killed on April 23.
