Chris Watts chose to end the lives of his pregnant wife and their two daughters, but the family of his victims didn't want to make the same choice, according to Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke.

Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke said he'll reveal what invesigators have been able to establish about Watts' motivation when he's sentenced for the murders of his wife, Shanann, and their daughters, Bella and Celeste. 

The Colorado man was accused of killing wife Shanann Watts and their children Bella and Celeste.

"Our whole world was flipped on its head and changed our lives forever,” Frankie Rzucek wrote in an emotional Facebook post. 

Chris Watts told police he caught his pregnant wife Shanann murdering their daughters on a baby monitor after telling her he wanted a separation. 

In one video, their daughter Bella sings about her "hero dad," who is now accused of murdering them. 

Shanann Watts did mention suspicions that her husband was cheating on her just a week before she vanished, a friend says. 

Shanann Watts posted on Facebook that her husband "my ROCK." Now he faces murder charges for her death and the deaths of their two daughters.

“I don’t feel like this is even real,” husband Chris Watts said of his family's disappearance. Then he was charged with murder.
