"Nichol [Chris Watts' mistress] said he was playing like he did not know Shanann was pregnant, even though she was 15 weeks pregnant,” according to recently released documents in the case.
“She stated that Christopher is acting, ‘Weird,’ and out of the ordinary," police said regarding the suspicions Sandra Rzucek had about her son-in-law.
"lf you are done, don’t love me, don’t want to work this out, not happy anymore and only staying because of kids, I NEED you to tell me," Shanann Watts pleaded with her husband.

Watts tried to pass himself off as a distraught father and husband pleading for his missing family to come home, all the while knowing he'd killed them all.
