Arizona Mother Killed by Ex-Boyfriend in Triple Shooting That Injured Two Others, Cops Say
Rueben Xavier Rocha turned himself in after allegedly killing his ex and the mother of his child, Jordin Miranda Castillo, police said.
An Arizona woman was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend and the father of her toddler daughter in a triple shooting that also wounded two of her friends, according to police.
Jordin Miranda Castillo, 20, died after her ex, Rueben Xavier Rocha, 22, allegedly jumped onto the balcony of the Glendale apartment that she was in on Sunday and fired multiple shots into the apartment.
The suspect had attempted to break the glass door by kicking it in, according to ABC15, causing Castillo to call 911. Rocha then allegedly opened fire, hitting Castillo and two other women in the apartment, aged 19 and 20.

All three woman were transported to the hospital where Castillo was eventually pronounced dead.
Along with the three shooting victims, a fourth woman, a man and Castillo’s 2-year-old child were also in the apartment at the time of the shooting, ABC15 reported.
Police say that during the incident, the fourth woman took Castillo’s daughter into the bathroom where neither were injured, according to KPHO-TV. Castillo and her two friends who were wounded in the shooting were in the main living room area of the apartment.
Castillo was previously in a relationship with Rocha, who is the father of her 2-year-old daughter, KPHO reported. After the couple had split, Castillo filed for and was granted an order of protection against Rocha.
Police said Castillo and Rocha were involved in a social media dispute earlier that Sunday. Following the argument, Rocha allegedly violated the order against him by jumping onto the balcony of the apartment Castillo was in that afternoon, according to KPHO.
After fleeing the scene on Sunday, Rocha eventually turned himself in around 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, KPHO added. It's unclear what charges he may face.
At a Glendale Police Department press conference, some of Castillo’s family members spoke out about the incident and the victim.
“Just love your loved ones,” Elijah Castillo, the victim's brother, said in an ABC15 recording of the press conference. “You never know when it’s gonna be the last day.”

Castillo's aunt, Mercedes Castillo, also spoke out, vowing that Castillo’s daughter will remember “only the best” of her mother.
“We’re gonna make sure this monster pays for what he did,” she added.
During the press conference, police said they believe that there was a history of domestic violence between Castillo and Rocha.
According to a GoFundMe page asking for financial help for Castillo's funeral expenses, Castillo was allegedly “harassed and stalked” by her ex-boyfriend.
The two friends of Castillo who were shot are still in the hospital, according to KPHO, with the 19-year-old in critical condition, and the 20-year-old in stable condition.
An investigation into the case is ongoing.
