Body Of Missing Wisconsin Mom Is Found More Than A Week After She Disappeared
Milwaukee Police had classified Emily Rogers, a 23-year-old mom, as a “critical missing person” and said they suspected foul play in her disappearance.
The body of a missing Wisconsin mom was discovered Thursday, more than a week after she disappeared.
The body of Emily Rogers was discovered Thursday afternoon in St. Francis. According to a statement from Milwaukee Police, “multiple suspects” have been taken into custody in connection to her death.
“The Milwaukee Police Department sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Emily Rogers that are impacted by this tragedy,” authorities said.
Police had classified Emily, a 23-year-old mother of a young daughter, as a “critical missing person” on Tuesday.
“There is reasonable suspicion to believe her disappearance is not voluntary and/or she is the victim of foul play,” police said at the time.
Emily was last seen April 26 at her home near 25th St. and Becher St. at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to a statement from police to Oxygen.com.
Police declined to release any further details of the case, citing the ongoing investigation.
Emily was the mother of a 15-month-old daughter, Katie. Her mother, Amy Rogers, told TMJ4 her daughter had moved to Milwaukee from Texas about seven months ago to try to make things work with her daughter’s father.
She said police discovered the child with her father at his mother’s home. He was arrested Sunday for a parole violation, according to records obtained by the news outlet.
Amy told WISN her daughter “wouldn’t ever, ever, ever leave” Katie. The baby is now in the custody of Emily’s parents.
Emily was first reported missing by her best friend, who told WISN that while searching for her friend she discovered Emily’s phone in some bushes outside her home.
Police have said the investigation into Emily’s death remains “open and ongoing.”
