Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With 17-Year-Old Student Multiple Times, Smoking Pot With Him
Brittney Lyles was fired from her teaching job earlier this month.
A Maryland teacher is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student on multiple occasions and giving the teen marijuana.
Brittney Lyles, 29, was arrested last Friday for the alleged offenses that took place in February, according to a press release from the Maryland State Police.
"She was charged with two counts of fourth-degree sex offense, sex abuse of a minor, contributing to certain conditions of a child, and other related offenses," the release read.
Authorities alleged Lyles picked up the alleged victim in her car from an off-school campus location before taking the teen to another location where they had sex.
Investigators discovered a photo that Lyles had sent to the teenager of her in the shower as well as a video of the two having sex on the teen's phone, police said, according to 47ABC. The discovery of the video ultimately led to Lyles' arrest, police said.
Investigators allege Lyles met with the teenager on multiple occasions to have sex and smoke marijuana, 47ABC reported.
Lyles "is being held without bond at the Talbot County Detention Center," according to the press release. It was not immediately clear if she had an attorney who could comment on her behalf.
Lyles worked as a teacher at the Kent County Alternative School Program but was fired from the position on March 2, according to the Toronto Sun.
