Florida Mom Found Dead Outside Neighbor’s Home After Husband Says He Was Lured Away And Robbed
Daniel Gaddis says he left his home with three acquaintances who later robbed him. He believes they returned to his home and also tried to rob his wife Amber.
A Florida woman was found slain outside a neighbor’s house early Saturday morning shortly after her husband claims he was lured away from their home and robbed.
Amber Gaddis, 30, was at home Friday night with her four children, her husband, Daniel Gaddis, and their roommate when three acquaintances pulled up in a dark car, Daniel told First Coast News, a Jacksonville news station.
Daniel said he left willingly with the three men, who drove him to an apartment complex. There, they allegedly robbed him – stealing his shoes and $20 before driving away, Albert Ives, a roommate of the Gaddis', told local outlet CBS12 News.
While Daniel was gone, Ives said he left the house to buy something. While the two men were away, neighbors said they heard three gunshots, CBS12 reports.
When Ives got back, belongings were missing from the home and Amber was nowhere to be seen.
Daniel believes the men who allegedly robbed him returned to his home and tried to rob his wife.
"I wasn't kidnapped, it was planned. It was like a setup," Daniel told First Coast News. "They planned it out, came to the house. Their intention was to rob us."
He told First Coast News he was dropped off back at his house at around 12:30 a.m. and joined Ives in frantically searching for his wife.
The men, who had called authorities by that point, discovered a trail of blood leading down the sidewalk and up to a neighbor’s home. Outside the house was Amber’s dead body.
Ives believes Amber ran to that house in search of help, according to CBS12.
Daniel and Ives, along with other family members and friends, were taken to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for questioning, Ives said.
Authorities are investigating, but haven't released any information on possible suspects, according to CBS12.
Daniel said he is focusing on consoling his children.
“I loved Amber with all my heart,” he told First Coast News. “She was like the air in my lungs.”
