Man Allegedly Snaps GF's Neck And Pokes Out Her Eyes After She Turns Down Marriage Proposal
He is 34 and she was 19.
A man from Berks County, Pennsylvania snapped his girlfriend’s neck and poked her eyes out after she rejected his marriage proposal on Halloween. According to NBC10, Christopher R. Tucker, 34, asked 19-year-old Tara Serino to marry him at his home. The teen rejected his offer, and allegedly told him she was sleeping with other men. She also reportedly made an “off-hand comment” that Tucker should kill her.
Then, Tucker allegedly began choking Serino until he thought she was dead. According to NBC10, he told police he then poked out her eyes and snapped her neck before beating her with a hatchet. A 25-pound weight plate was also used to kill Serino, according to KCCI. He then wrapped his girlfriend in a rug and fled to Illinois. Police in Champaign County, Illinois, found Tucker at a truck stop, where he attempted to break into a farmer's combine. According to Lehigh Valley Live, he was behaving strangely and not making sense. Tucker was taken to a nearby hospital for an evaluation. He later allegedly confessed to killing Serino. Police said Serino’s injuries are consistent with Tucker’s confession.
Now, he’s being charged with murder and criminal homicide. It is unclear if Tucker has an attorney at this time. He is awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.
Serino’s obituary reads, “She was generous and caring, artistic and open-minded, and had a positive outlook on life. Tara loved to be surrounded by nature, which inspired her passion for photography, especially of the earth and sky. She is loved more than words can express and will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Tara will live on in our hearts forever.”
