Christian School Teacher Going To Prison After Getting Caught In Bed With Teen Student
The parents of the victim, who was sexually abused by Andrea Nicole Baber since he was 15, received an anonymous e-mail with photographs of their son in bed with the then-teacher.
A former Christian school teacher from Oregon who was caught having sexual relations with a teen boy by her husband has been sentenced to serve 20 months behind bars.
Andrea Nicole Baber, 30, received the sentence on Friday after pleading guilty one month prior to rape and contributing to the sexual delinquency for having sex with a student in Springfield last year, local outlet Register-Guard reports.
She took a plea deal, and in turn, numerous other charges including sodomy and providing marijuana to a minor were dropped.
Baber was arrested in late 2017 after being accused of having sexual relations with a 17-year-old student for over a year. The abuse reportedly began when the victim was just 15.
Baber’s husband reportedly walked in on her and the student in the couple’s bed, according to The News-Review in 2017. His wife was partially unclothed. However, husband wasn’t the only one who found out something was suspicious prior to the former teacher's arrest.
The victim’s parents also reportedly received an email from an anonymous tipster. It asked the parents if they were aware their son was in a sexual relationship with Baber, according to Fox News. Photographs of the teacher and their son pictured together in Baber’s bed were attached to the email. That concerning message prompted the victim’s dad to call the police.
The victim reportedly told police that he had sex with his teacher at least once a week at her home. He also claimed that Baber supplied him with alcohol and marijuana from time to time.
Baber has since been fired from her job teaching English at Logos Christian Academy, where she met the victim.
She will now be registered as a sex offender.
