Young Hollywood Reportedly Getting Death Threats After Dissing Amara La Negra
The 'Love & Hip Hop: Miami' star was blasted online after insulting his co-star's afro.
Love & Hip Hop: Miami star Young Hollywood's TV debut seems to be off to a rocky start.
Hollywood's comments about co-star Amara La Negra during the show's first episode were met with a ton of backlash online. During the producer's conversation with La Negra, he criticized her style, telling the Afro-Latina entertainer that she needs to be "a little more Beyonce, a little less Macy Gray." He then proceeded to claim that her afro isn't "elegant," and, believe it or not, it gets worse from there: when La Negra made it clear that she wasn't having it, he called her "psychotic."
Needless to say, fans of the show had a lot to say about Hollywood's comments.
Despite the controversy, Hollywood doubled down on his original comments, claiming that it's not him that fans should be angry at, but the music industry itself.
"What I was saying was a professional thing from an industry standpoint," he explained to TMZ.
The producer went on to say that he's received death threats because of the things he said.
"I'm not a racist at all. That's insane to even think that," he said. "I don't feel I should be getting the death threats that I've been receiving. I've been receiving death threats. This is really starting to affect my personal life, my reputation with friends.'
