Man Arrested After 11-Year-Old Cousin Finds Child Pornography On His Apple Watch
The girl's shocking discovery led to the arrest of David Orozco.
Police arrested a man in Ohio after one of his young relatives found child pornography on his Apple watch, reports say.
David Orozco was booked on charges of possessing child pornography, manufacturing child pornography, and lewd acts with a child, KTLA reports. Orozco's collection was discovered after he lent his Apple watch to his cousin, an 11-year-old girl, who later discovered thousands of disturbing images.
"An underage female borrowed an iPhone watch from the suspect, not knowing that there was child pornography on it," Bethany, Ohio Police Lieutenant Angelo Orefice explained to KTLA. "As she was trying to text message, that came up."
The girl told her mother, who then alerted the police, leading them to approach the suspect at his place of business and request that he come into the station to provide a statement. According to the affidavit, Orozco admitted to looking at "numerous images of nude children via the internet over the last year," and told authorities that there were "likely more images of nude children still on his phone."
During the investigation, authorities say that a 13-year-old girl came forward, alleging that Orozco had sexually assaulted her, International Business Times reports. Orozco is also alleged to have manufactured child pornography by using hidden cameras to record footage of minors, and, in some videos, can reportedly even be seen testing the equipment.
"We located over 1,500 images of child pornography and, I think, approximately, it was 210 videos," Orefice said.
Orozco's arrest may lead to further breakthroughs, Orefice explained.
"Just by downloading and extracting his phone, we were able to get over 250 to 300 different names," he said.
