Jodi Arias' Lawyer: 'Defending Jodi Is The Reason Cancer Infested My Body'
Jodi Arias' lawyer Kirk Nurmi, who appears on Oxygen's "In Defense Of," claims that defending the infamous client is the reason he fell ill of cancer.
Kirk Nurmi was assigned a tall task: defending Jodi Arias. The lawyer appears on Oxygen's new series "Jodi Arias: In Defense Of" where he spoke openly about his work defending Arias. In a recent bonus video released exclusively on Oxygen.com, Nurmi suggests that the stress from the work surrounding the Arias trial was conducive to his cancer diagnosis. "My role in Jodi Arias' trial and everything that happened related to that was the reason cancer infested my body and altered the course of my life," the lawyer says.
Nurmi also goes on to talk about Arias and her trial. He says that he was not surprised that Jodi Arias received a life sentence. "It's impossible for me to discern whether the media had any impact on the outcome of the case. I don't feel that there's anything to be proud of or ashamed of. This is a complete tragedy," he says.
