‘Teen Mom’ Star Denies Drug Use Despite Positive Results From Televised Test
During an appearance on the Vivica A. Fox-helmed show “Face The Truth,” Farrah Abraham denied using any prescription drugs despite testing positive for barbituates.
Farrah Abraham of “Teen Mom” fame appeared to fail a drug test despite denying any substance abuse during a recent appearance on the new Vivica A. Fox-hosted self-help show, “Face The Truth.”
The 27-year-old reality TV star and entrepreneur was featured on Monday’s episode alongside her mother, Debra Danielsen, in an effort to strengthen their contentious relationship, People reports. The strains became more clear when the subject of drug abuse arose.
When asked why she believed that her daughter may be using, Danielsen explained, “Her behavior is so erratic and always aggravated and always angry and always short-fused. I just can’t imagine why we have to have that constantly.”
Fox’s show “features real people presenting their problems big and small to the hosts in search of solutions,” according to its official website.
Eventually, Danielsen and Abraham both agreed to submit to a drug test. But while Danielsen’s results were negative, Abraham tested positive for barbiturates, a depressant used to treat anxiety, insomnia, and migraines in some cases.
One of Fox’s co-hosts, Judge Mary Chrzanowski, prefaced the reveal by acknowledging the fact that one can test positive for barbiturates after taking medicine legally prescribed by a doctor. Still, Abraham seemed taken aback the results, remarking, “I’m just a little confused of what a barbiturate is.”
Abraham then accused the hosts of making a mistake with her results.
“So I don’t think either that’s mine, and I have to just say, did someone confuse something? I have to be that blunt—I have to be that blunt at this moment in my life up here, I’m sorry if it sounds so crazy. Or someone switched,” she said, trailing off before adding, “I am so, like, laughing out loud right now.”
When asked if she was taking any mood stabilizers or sleep aids, Abraham claimed she was not taking any prescription drugs at all.
While Judge Chrzanowski suggested chalking up the results to a false positive due to the reality star’s stubbornness, Abraham continued to press the issue: “I actually think it’s screwed up. Why would your test do a false positive?”
Abraham then stated that she would follow up with the producers “who actually initiated” the drug test. “God only knows if it’s real,” she added.
Abraham fired back at the “Face the Truth” panel in an Instagram post on Sunday, describing herself as “the only real person on stage” and calling Fox “non credible,” while describing the show itself as “disgusting.”
“What about women lifting women up?” she continued in her caption, adding later, “What about not putting down others to make your self feel better — my recommendation for all of these hosts is to get off tv , go find self love, take care of their own mental health, their stunted children & families & not one women was credible on the show as well I have no respect for women who have to lie, degrade, and be jealous of another amazing women.”
Abraham is currently facing multiple charges and possible jail time after getting into an altercation with a security guard at a hotel in Beverly Hills earlier this year. Abraham pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor battery and resisting, delaying, or obstructing a peace officer last month.
