Man Admits To Sexually Assaulting 8-Year-Old Girl, Giving Her Meth And Marijuana
An 8-year-old girl revealed the drug-induced horror she experienced in a hotel room.
A 48-year-old Missouri man has admitted to engaging in drug-fueled, sexual activity with an 8-year-old girl. According to Fox2Now, the man rented a hotel room where he sexually assaulted the child and forced her to participate in taking multiple narcotics.
The man, Brett Pendleton, took the child to the American Inn on January 1 in Washington, Missouri. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the 8-year-old was a relative of Pendleton's, and she had permission from her mother to visit with him. The child was in communication with her mother through texts while she was with Pendleton, but when the child stopped responding, her mother got worried and went to find her daughter.
The mother found Pendleton's car outside the motel and went to the room. It was then that the child revealed what Pendleton had done to her. The child took her mother to the bathroom and said that she was afraid that Pendleton had hurt her. According to the child, he forced her to engage in various sexual acts. He also forced her to eat meth, smoke marijuana and smoke cigarettes.
The two were together alone for about six or eight hours, per police.
Pendleton was eventually apprehended and admitted to the acts to authorities. He apparently gave the child the methamphetamine by rolling it in toilet paper and feeding it to her.
“As you can imagine an 8-year-old on meth, not a sight you see every day,” Washington Police Det. Sgt. Steve Sitzes said. “She was very fidgety, very amped up."
Evidence was also gathered from the motel room that supported the girl's claims.
The mother has not been charged with any crimes. Authorities say that she had no knowledge of the incidents before being told about them by her daughter.
Pendleton, who was reportedly already on parole for manufacturing meth, has been charged with one count of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy deviate sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 12, according to Fox2Now. He is also charged with an additional count of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk. He is behind bars on a $250,000 cash-only bond. It is unclear if he has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
The girl's mother took her daughter to a nearby hospital following the incident. She has been treated and released.
