Heather Locklear Told EMT She Hoped Her Kids Would Die From AIDS, Lawsuit Alleges
Jennifer Hayn-Hiton alleges the "Melrose Place" actress physically and verbally abused her while responding to an emergency call in June.
Heather Locklear may be heading for a legal battle after allegedly physically and verbally abusing an EMT earlier this year.
Paramedics were called to the 57-year-old actress's home in response to a disturbance in June, one day after Locklear was arrested for misdemeanor battery in connection to an incident during which she allegedly punched a police officer while intoxicated. Now, one of the EMTs who responded to the second disturbance has filed a lawsuit claiming that Locklear physically and verbally abused her that day, TMZ reports.
Jennifer Hayn-Hiton alleges that Locklear was physically aggressive during the encounter, injuring her hands and feet to the point where Hayn-Hiton, a single mother of three, was unable to work. Hayn-Hiton also contends that Locklear’s abuse was verbal as well, claiming that the actress stated at one point that she hoped that Hayn-Hiton’s children would die from AIDS, according to TMZ.
Hayn-Hiton is seeking unspecified damages in recompense for her medical bills and the wages she lost by missing work, as well as for pain and suffering, according to TMZ.
After a string of troubling incidents and arrests, including a psychiatric evaluation, reports indicate that Locklear has since sought treatment in rehab.
Hayn-Hiton’s attorney Kevin Flahavan told TMZ that the situation has taken a “tremendous toll” on his client and her children.
“When Ms. Locklear went to rehab, we had hoped that she would learn about making amends to those she had harmed,” he said, according to the outlet. “We have reached out to her and she ignored us time and time again. It became apparent that Ms. Locklear wasn’t going to accept responsibility for her actions on her own.”
Locklear has yet to comment publicly on the suit.
