Woman Allegedly Tried To Send Boyfriend Into 'Eternal Sleep' With Spoonful Of Drano
Elle Yoshio Weissman, 43, was booked into a Utah jail on suspicion of attempted murder and surreptitious administering of a certain substance.
How does that “Mary Poppins” song go again? A spoonful of Drano makes one go into eternal sleep?
Maybe if a certain Utah woman rewrote the popular children's tale.
Elle Yoshio Weissman, of South Salt Lake, is accused of giving her live-in boyfriend a spoonful of drain cleaner while pretending it was medicine. The man was hospitalized in excruciating pain and is now in critical but stable condition, according to Fox13 in Salt Lake City.
Weissman, 43, was booked into Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and surreptitious administering of a certain substance, according to online jail records.
Her boyfriend, who hasn’t been identified, reportedly told investigators that he thought Weissman was giving him medicine. It definitely wasn't.
Instead, “she had given her live-in boyfriend a spoonful of Drano. Elle stated that her intention was to give her boyfriend Drano so that he would go into eternal sleep,” according to a complaint obtained by KSL-TV in Salt Lake City. “Elle stated that by eternal sleep she meant death. She knew that Drano could kill him and that was her intention. The victim was partially asleep when Elle gave him the Drano.”
Police said that Wiessman called him a car service to take him to the hospital after he started experiencing pain. Authorities were called after he reached the hospital.
It’s not clear if Weissman has a lawyer who can speak on her behalf at this time. She’s being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
