Texas Man Accused Of Raping 3-Year-Old Relative And Giving Her STDs
Drevon Alexander Perkins allegedly told officials during a polygraph test that he had raped the girl while he was on drugs.
A Texas man has allegedly admitted to raping a 3-year-old relative and giving her STDs, authorities said.
Drevon Alexander Perkins, 26, was arrested and charged with super aggravated sexual assault of a child under 6 years old after officials say he raped his 3-year-old relative in January at his apartment, KTRK reports.
The alleged abuse was discovered by the victim’s mother, who noticed her daughter had a discharge in her diaper and took her to a local hospital to be evaluated, according to The San Antonio Express-News.
A doctor discovered the young girl had contracted chlamydia and gonorrhea and police began an investigation into the abuse, the paper reports, citing court records.
Perkins allegedly admitted during a polygraph test that he had raped the girl, telling authorities the incident happened while he was doing drugs. The girl’s mother was at work at the time and not aware of what had happened.
The exact relationship between Perkins and the victim wasn’t disclosed, but she is described as a relative of Perkins.
Authorities were also able to confirm that Perkins had the same two STDs the young girl had been infected with, further strengthening the case against him, officials said.
After his admission during the polygraph test, Perkins was arrested Tuesday. He was taken to the Bexar County jail, where he is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
He faces a minimum of 25 years in prison if convicted of the charges against him, KTRK reports.
