Fugitive Accused Of Child Sex Crimes Arrested Wearing 'Father Of The Year' Shirt
"Clarence Sheese, your decision to flee here was a bad one," the Clay County Sheriff's Office boasted.
An Ohio fugitive wanted in a child sex case was caught in Florida wearing, of all things, a “Father of the Year” T-shirt.
“We thought it was pretty clear, our community won’t tolerate criminal behavior,” the Clay County Sheriff’s Office stated on Facebook, alongside a photograph of Clarence Sheese's arrest in Florida. “Especially concerning fugitives who flee from other states into Clay County, because they are wanted for child sex crimes. Clarence Sheese, your decision to flee here was a bad one.”
Sheese, 50, was found in Clay County after someone tipped off authorities, according to Fox 30 Jacksonville. He was arrested by deputies with the help of the U.S. Marshal Service. The arrest took place on Monday, according to the Miami Herald.
Sheese is wanted in Ohio for two counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition, according to WDTN in Dayton, Ohio. The details of that case have not been disclosed.
“To those who target Clay County citizens, for those who flee here to avoid capture of crime and to those who harbor such criminals, we will come get you,” the sheriff’s department warned.
He was reportedly found living at a residence in Fleming Island before his arrest. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf at this time. He has been booked on no bond, based on online court records.
It’s not clear if Sheese has any children but his shirt, complete with the image of a trophy, is a stark contrast to the image of his hands cuffed behind his back.
