Man Who Allegedly Shot His Ex-GF In Front Of Her 4-Year-Old Son Kills Himself
Kacey McKinney was reportedly shot in the face. Her new boyfriend jumped off a second-story balcony with her young son, saving his life.
Kacey McKinney, a mother from Redlands, California was fatally shot in front of her 4-year-old son in their apartment last Tuesday. The man accused of killing her, her ex and the son’s father, was found dead on Sunday at a golf course, from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
"She was an amazing friend, mother, cousin, daughter," Jennifer Bowen, cousin of 31-year-old McKinney told NBC Los Angeles. "Everybody loved her. She was the most sweetest, caring person you could ever meet."
McKinney's ex, Bradley Woss, 33, had been menacing her for a while, according to Bowen.
During the shooting at the apartment, Bowen said McKinney’s current boyfriend stepped in to save the child. In fact, he jumped from a second-story balcony with the boy to escape and shield the child from bullets. The child is okay but the boyfriend was reportedly injured. He was also reportedly shot at by Woss. Bowen told NBC Los Angeles that the boy witnessed his own mother being shot in the face.
"He took this baby's mother away from him and now he's basically left with no parents," Bowen said of Woss.
The fight between Woss and McKinney started over the mother’s new relationship, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said, according to the Redlands Daily Facts.
“She was an amazing person,” Andi Kameradt told CBS News. “Anyone who knows her knows her piercing beautiful green eyes and her beautiful smile. Her wonderful laugh.”
The family has started a GoFundMe for funeral costs.
