Man Who Tried To Seduce Teen Boy With Chicken Alfredo And Sprite Gets Jail Sentence
Albert Maruna told what he thought was a 15-year-old boy that he wanted to be his husband one day.
An Ohio man has pleaded guilty to trying to seduce what he thought was a 15-year-old teen boy — using chicken alfredo and Sprite.
Albert Maruna, 23, turned himself in at the Mahoning County Jail on Monday to begin serving a seven-day sentence, according to WFMJ-TV in Youngstown. He will be under house arrest for 120 days after that, and then probation for three years. He'll also have to register as a tier-1 sex offender. He was sentenced on Friday.
Maruna was 22 and a student at Youngstown State University when he thought he was chatting with a 15-year-old boy on a dating app, who was in fact an undercover police officer.
When the officer told Maruna he was talking to a teenager, Maruna said he didn't believe in age, according to WKBN-TV in Youngstown. Maruna sent nude pictures of himself, and said he was developing feelings for the boy.
"You are my one and only," he told the undercover officer, adding that he'd like the "boy" to be his husband one day.
Maruna and the officer arranged to meet, and Maruna requested that he wear a jockstrap. Maruna told the officer he was bringing the chicken alfredo and Sprite, and a bottle of Astroglide lubrication. He was later arrested with a tupperware container with the food, the drink, the lube and a container of Vaseline.
Maruna was originally charged with importuning, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and possessing criminal tools. When he was questioned, police said Maruna didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with wanting to have sex with a 15-year-old, according to WKBN-TV.
