Peacock Documentary GARY Revisits Gary Coleman's 2010 Death — Where to Watch
The documentary will revisit the Diff'rent Strokes actor's life after the NBC sitcom ended, as well as the circumstances surrounding his death in 2010.
When fans think of the late actor Gary Coleman, they often remember the star's performance as 8-year-old Arnold Jackson from the show Diff'rent Strokes.
The former child actor became an instant star when he appeared on the NBC sitcom in the late '60s, largely thanks to his famous catchphrase, "Watcha talkin' 'bout Willis." For nearly 10 years, viewers welcomed Arnold and the rest of the Jacksons into their home until the beloved sitcom came to an end in 1986. Despite the show's end, Coleman would continue to be looked at as a child star.
Now, the Peacock documentary GARY aims to show viewers a different side of Coleman, who was defined by one of his first-ever acting roles. In addition to revisiting his storied career, the documentary will explore "his struggles with fame; and the controversy surrounding his tragic death at the age of 42," per a press release from the streamer.
And "for the first time, viewers will experience Coleman’s private world through exclusive interviews with his fellow actors, industry insiders and his estranged ex-wife and parents," according to the release. His former Diff'rent Strokes co-star Todd Bridges and other colleagues are among those interviewed by producers.
When does GARY premiere?
The documentary premieres on Thursday, August 29. It is 90 minutes long and features never-before-seen interviews with Coleman's friends and family.
Where can I watch GARY?
Viewers can stream the documentary exclusively on Peacock.
More True Crime to Watch on Oxygen
Once viewers are done watching GARY, there are plenty of other true crime documentaries and programs to watch, including Oxygen's own Snapped and Killer Relationship. Additionally, the streamer just released Face to Face with Scott Peterson, a scintillating look at the case against the man accused of murdering his wife Laci Peterson and their unborn child.
