Jim Wilder was arrested not once, but twice, for allegations he had sexually abused students at Lindbergh High School.

Jim Wilder was a beloved track coach at Lindbergh High School in Missouri. He was also accused of sexually abusing an underage student.

Jim Wilder, a popular track coach, was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with student Emilie Morris — but she tragically died before the case could go to trial.

“We did something that wasn’t right according to the laws these days,” former coach Jim Wilder allegedly said in a taped conversation with former student Emilie Morris, while also insisting he was “not a creeper."

"I think there are enough things suspicious about her death that I have never felt comfortable with the answers I have been given,” her sister said of Emilie Morris’ death.

In the TV series, "A Teacher," an educator played by Kate Mara manipulates her student, played by Nick Robinson, into a situation that mirrors some actual abuse cases.

From hiding in closets to threatening to derail a student athlete’s career, these coach sexual abuse scandals are downright chilling.

“She violated children to satisfy her own selfish desires and this sentence reflects this community’s intolerance for child sexual offenders,” Montgomery County prosecutors said of Leticia Lowery.  

Matthew Nesser also allegedly bought the 14-year-old chocolates, cards, and jewelry for her birthday and Valentine's Day.

In the show "A Teacher," Claire Wilson, played by Kate Mara, manipulates her student Eric Walker, played by Nick Robinson into sex. While it's fictional, it mirrors real-life grooming tactics.
