"Monster In the Shadows," a Peacock docuseries that explores the disappearance of 19-year-old Brittney Wood and reveals a tangled web of family secrets including an alleged sex-trafficking ring, is coming to Oxygen, as well as Peacock special "The Murder of Gabby Petito: Truth, Lies and Social Media."
"They are incredible,” Nichole Schmidt said of people who spent countless hours on her daughter’s case from their computer screens at home. “The sleuths, the internet sleuths, they do a great job. They really do.”
For more than a week, investigators and internet detectives tried to figure out what happened to 22-year-old Gabby Petito before her body was found in Grand Teton National Park on Sept. 19.
Gabby Petito and her boyfriend Brian Laundrie embarked on what should have been a life-changing cross-country trip, but only one of them returned home.
“The Murder of Gabby Petito: Truth, Lies and Social Media” will examine "Gabby’s life through the curated lens she created and immerses the viewer in the world of social media sleuthing that was crucial to the case," according to Peacock.
