Real Estate Agent Accused Of Killing Her Dad And His Girlfriend At Their Mansion Claims She's Been Framed
Sherry Lee Heffernan, a real estate agent, has been accused of killing her father, John Enders, and his girlfriend, Francoise “Frenchy” Pitoy, in their Jersey Shore mansion after she was rejected from selling the property.
A Pennsylvania real estate agent accused of brutally murdering her elderly father and his girlfriend at their Jersey Shore mansion claimed this week that she’s been set up.
“Not guilty. I’m being framed,” Sherry Lee Heffernan, 55, told a reporter as she was led from a West Chester, Pennsylvania courtroom on Monday, local outlet the Daily Local News reported.
Heffernan has been charged with two counts of murder and related weapons violations in connection with the murder of her father, 87-year-old John Enders and his girlfriend, 75-year-old Francoise “Frenchy” Pitoy. The couple were found dead in their Surf City mansion on Oct. 3. Investigators believe they had been killed for several days prior to the discovery, according to the Ocean County Prosecutors’ Office.
Both Enders and Pitoy were found stabbed, slashed and beaten, WPVI reported.
In a complaint filed by Surf City Police, a neighbor of the couple claims that Enders had cut Heffernan out of his will in September. That neighbor also claimed that Heffernan became upset after her father rejected her offer for her to sell their $1.9 million home, according to the Daily Local News.
Police allege that an RV, which matches the description of Heffernan’s Winnebago, was spotted on surveillance camera footage on Sept. 29 headed towards the victims’ house. Soon after this sighting, video footage captured a person hopping a fence near Enders’ home holding a bag and wearing clothes that were reportedly oversisized.
Heffernan maintains she had nothing to do with the murders.
“I would have surrendered myself in New Jersey if I had known I was wanted for something,” she told the Pennsylvania judge on Monday.
Heffernan is expected to be extradited to New Jersey to await trial. She is now being held without bail. Before being extradited out of Pennsylvania, she will face charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property in Montgomery County for a 2019 incident.
