Girlfriend Of Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Arrested For Allegedly Punching Him During Argument
Rachel Wattley, the girlfriend of rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, is facing domestic violence charges after allegedly punching the rapper after a night out in Miami.
The girlfriend of the controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested for allegedly punching him during an argument at an upscale restaurant in Miami.
Rachel Wattley, 25, was taken into custody early Monday morning, according to multiple media reports.
She was charged with one count of a misdemeanor battery, according to NBC 6 South Florida.
An off-duty Miami Police officer in the wee hours of Monday morning spotted Wattley and Tekashi being escorted out of Kiki On the River, a Greek restaurant, according to the Miami Herald.
The officer witnessed the couple “get into a verbal argument,” and Tekashi reportedly told him that “prior to leaving that [Wattley] had punched him.”
“The victim had a visible minor injury to his left cheek,” the Herald reported citing a police report.
A security officer for the restaurant allegedly told the officer that Wattley punched the rapper “several times.”
Tekashi reportedly left before identifying himself, but the officer recognized him as a “known music artist.”
He is identified as the victim in the police report.
According to TMZ, the restaurant provided police with surveillance footage of the incident.
The rapper told the website that Wattley was being held on a $1,500 bail, and that he was trying to get her released.
“I’m gonna get her out of jail – she attacked me in front of the police. I told them, ‘You have to evaluate her, she’s obviously under the influence. I don’t plan to press charges … I’m the one trying to bail her out,’” he told TMZ.
He suggested that her friends had egged on the fight.
TMZ posted video to their website which appears to show Tekashi along with several yelling women outside the restaurant, during which he appears to get hit.
Wattley and the Brooklyn rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, have been dating for three years and share a child.
She is an aspiring rapper and dancer and is known as Jade on social media. She has nearly two thousand followers on Instagram.
Wattley and her sister were allegedly involved in a bar fight with rapper Cardi B and her crew in 2019 over claims that Wattley or her sister had a sexual encounter with Cardi's husband, the Migos rapper Offset.
Tekashi, as previously reported by Oxygen.com, was released from a federal prison in 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and ordered into home confinement.
He famously testified against members of his own gang in several murder trials as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
