Porn Star Ron Jeremy Indicted On More Than 30 Charges Of Sexual Assault Against 21 Women

Porn star Ron Jeremy has been indicted on more than 30 counts of sexual assault involving 21 victims spanning more than two decades, including one who was just 15 years old at the time of the alleged assault.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced the charges against Ron Jeremy—whose full name is Ron Jeremy Hyatt—in a statement Wednesday after a grand jury returned an indictment earlier this month against the former porn star. Jeremy made a name for himself in the 1980s and 1990s playing an every man of sorts in the adult film industry.

Jeremy is facing 12 counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of sexual battery by restraint, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person and one count each of lewd act upon a child under the age of 14 or 15, sodomy by use of force and assault with intent to commit rape.

Jeremy is accused of sexually assaulting 21 women—ranging in age from 15 to 51—over more than two decades, beginning in 1996 when prosecutors allege that he raped a 19-year-old woman during a photo shoot in the San Fernando Valley.

He’s also accused of raping a 26-year-old woman at a nightclub in October of 2000, assaulting a woman at a strip club in City of Industry, and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in June of 2004.

According to the indictment, which was unsealed Wednesday and obtained by Oxygen.com, Jeremy allegedly committed the “lewd and lascivious act” against the underage teenager on June 12, 2004. In that same case, he’s also accused of committing “an act of sexual penetration” against her will “by means of force, duress, menace and fear of immediate and unlawful bodily injury.”

Jeremy also stands accused of raping a 17-year-old girl at a Woodland Hills home in 2008 and sexually assaulting a 38-year-old woman at a West Hollywood bar in January of 2013.

The most recent allegation allegedly occurred on January 1, 2020, when prosecutors said Jeremy performed an “act of sexual intercourse” with a woman against her will and committed an act of sodomy, according to the indictment.

“Far too often, survivors of sexual assault suffer in isolation,” Gascón said. “We must ensure that survivors have all options available to help with recovery, including trauma-informed services for healing and support to report such crimes.”

If convicted on the charges against him, Jeremy could face more than 300 years behind bars, NBC News reports.

The counts against Jeremy appear to be the same charges that were filed against the 68-year-old last year; however, the grand jury indictment will now replace the original charges, according to The Associated Press.

The tactical move of taking the allegations before a grand jury allows prosecutors to skip the preliminary trial, the outlet reports.

Jeremy’s defense attorney, Stuart Goldfarb, said in a statement to The Associated Press that his client’s position “is the same” as when the initial criminal compliant had been filed.

“He is innocent of all the charges,” he said.

Oxygen.com also reached out to Goldfarb, but did not receive an immediate response.

Jeremy denied allegations that he had sexually assaulted women himself to Rolling Stone in 2017, after reports began to surface that Jeremy had used his larger-than-life porn star persona to commit the sexual abuse.

“If anyone was ever made to feel uncomfortable by ANY of our interactions, I’m deeply sorry,” he wrote in a statement at the time. “That was never my intention and it breaks my heart in half.”  

Jeremy was arrested in June of 2020. He remains in jail on a $6.6 million bond.

Jeremy has performed in hundreds of adult films since his career began in the 1970s. He also appeared on the WB and VH1 reality series “The Surreal Life.”
