Robert Durst, the heir to a large real estate fortune, is accused of killing his friend Susan Berman two decades ago.

Robert Durst garnered nationwide attention after "The Jinx" examined the multiple disappearances and murders of people Durst knew. 

Prosecutors allege that Durst, who was the subject of a popular HBO documentary, killed Berman to keep her quiet about what she knew about the death of his wife Kathleen decades earlier. 

Prosecutors say the notorious real estate heir killed Berman so she wouldn't give investigators evidence that he killed his first wife, Kathleen McCormack Durst, in 1982.
