Federal investigators are reportedly working with the U.S. Postal Service to figure out whether Jussie Smollett had a hand in sending the racist letter he received prior to the alleged hate crime, meaning the actor could still face charges.
The "Empire" actor has been charged with 16 counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly lying to police about being the victim of a racist, homophobic assault.
Smollett's attorney Mark Geragos Calls calls the 16 felony counts against the "Empire" actor outrageous and criticizes police for "false" leaks to the media.
“I’ll be completely honest, I was like 'I don’t know if I want to do the interview or not,'” the news anchor said of her high-profile sit down with Smollett.
The $3,500 check is written to Abimbola Osundario, one of two brothers Smollett allegedly hired for the attack, and says in its memo line it’s for a “nutritional/workout program.”
