An update on DNA evidence found on JonBenét Ramsey's clothes and fingernails shows it was not a match for her family members, according to a new book about the detective who investigated her brutal murder and his investigative files.
In the new documentary “Suburban Nightmare: JonBenét Ramsey,” John Ramsey continues to push his efforts to get evidence from the case sent out to independent labs.
While the family of victim Kaylee Goncalves has criticized aspects of the investigation, Andrew Ramsey says it's a positive sign that Moscow Police have requested help from the Idaho State Police and FBI.
"The murder of my daughter can never be undone. There will never be peace or closure. But there can and should be justice,” John Ramsey wrote in his request to meet with Gov. Jared Polis.
“This crime has left a hole in the hearts of many, and we will never stop investigating until we find JonBenet’s killer,” Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold said while making the announcement.
JonBenet Ramsey, who was found dead in the basement of her family's Boulder, Colorado home on Dec. 26, 1996, would have turned 32 years old on Saturday.
JonBenét Ramsey’s family has also endorsed a petition asking Colorado Gov. Jared Polis to allow for independent testing of DNA evidence after John Ramsey slammed the efforts of the Boulder Police in April.
John Ramsey, JonBenét's father, told a CrimeCon 2022 audience that he wanted the Colorado governor to intervene and allow for independent testing of evidence in the decades-old case.
John Ramsey, JonBenét Ramsey's father, and author Paula Woodward, discussed what they say are the myths surrounding the case and took the Boulder police to task at a CrimeCon panel.
“I never loved anyone like I did JonBenét and yet I let her slip and her head bashed in half and I watched her die," Gary Oliva wrote in a prison letter, but authorities have been aware of him for years.
