Megan Boswell, the mother of the 15-month-old found dead on a relative's property, remains in custody on charges of providing false statements to authorities, but no one has been officially charged with the toddler's death.

"Certain aspects of the case can’t be released to protect the integrity of the case; however, I assure you, certain and swift justice will be administered to anybody involved in baby Evelyn’s death," Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy said after the confirmation was made.

Evelyn Boswell's mother, Megan, has been accused of misleading investigators in the case.

Investigators discovered child's remains at a property belonging to a relative of Evelyn's mom Megan Boswell, authorities said.

The amount of time that has passed without any sight of Evelyn Mae Boswell is "hindering a lot of our investigation," an official said.
