Transgender Instagram Model Arraigned In Father's Murder, Sister's Assault
Prosecutors say that Nikki Secondino stabbed her father, Carlo, in his Brooklyn apartment after a verbal argument over a laptop and then stabbed her sister, Liana, for trying to stop the assault .
An Instagram model who allegedly stabbed her father and sister after a fight over a laptop has been arraigned on murder and assault charges in the case.
Nikki Secondino, 22, was arraigned Monday for second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon in the death of her father, Carlo Secondino, 61, and the stabbing of her sister, Liana Secondino, 19, on Dec. 29, according to a press release from the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office and previous reporting by Oxygen.com.
Prosecutors say that, following a verbal argument over a laptop, Nikki Secondino saw her father, Carlo, asleep on the sofa in the living room of his apartment at around 5:20 a.m., struck him with a hammer multiple times and then stabbed him.
Her sister, Liana, prosecutors said, heard the commotion in the living room, came out of her bedroom and tried to stop the attack. In response, Nikki allegedly stabbed her sister multiple times in her body, hands and face.
Neighbors reportedly called 911, and Nikki allegedly told responding officers that two men had broken into the family's Brooklyn apartment, killed Carlo and Liana before sexually assaulting her. Oxygen.com previously reported that Nikki had some wounds at the time officers arrived.
In charging documents obtained by Law & Crime, police said that when they arrived, a gravely wounded Liana was outside the building and told officers that Nikki had stabbed her. She also asked after her father, encouraging officers to attend to him.

Liana was taken to a local hospital where she received treatment for the attack, while Carlo was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a subsequent interview with police, Nikki allegedly confessed to the crime, according to the charging documents seen by Law & Crime.
“'I came out of the bedroom and I saw my father sitting on [the] couch sleeping and I bashed [his] head in with [a] hammer,'” she allegedly told police. “I grabbed my favorite German steel knife and stabbed the sh*t out of him.”
“'I wanted them dead,'” police allege Nikki told them of the attacks. “'If I saw the 911 caller, she would be next.'”
She did, however, allegedly claim the attacks were not premeditated.
“'I didn’t plan it,'” police say she told them. “'I didn’t need to.'”
Prosecutors say that father and daughter had a history of domestic violence allegations and he'd previously expressed that he was afraid of the young woman.
“He will just tell you, ‘She’s crazy; she’s fighting all the time,’” Carlo's employer, Yadira Gomez, told the New York Daily News after his death. “Like, she’s all the time fighting… he would just say she has problems.”
Nikki Secondino is currently being held without bail. She is due back in court on April 5 and faces a maximum of 50 years in prison if convicted on the charges in this case.
