LAPD ID’s Man Wanted In Hollywood Double Murder With Victim’s Children Nearby
Police are seeking the public's assistance after identifying Marvin Francell Williams as the suspect in the shooting of Nadia Campbell and Ajani Patridge on a Hollywood street. Cops are calling the murders an act of domestic violence.
The LAPD is seeking the public’s help after identifying a suspect in a murder that left two people dead on a Hollywood, California street.
Marvin Francell Williams, 32, is wanted for the double murder of Nadia Campbell, 35, and Ajani Patridge, 40, who were both shot to death on Thursday, according to the LAPD. Authorities say Williams was previously involved in a romantic relationship with Campbell, calling the murders domestic violence.
Three of Campbell's young children were in a nearby vehicle when the shooting occurred, officials stated. According to the LA Times, the children were ages 8, 6 and 1 years-old.
Hollywood patrol officers responded to “numerous calls of a shooting” at around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, according to the LAPD’s press release. They found Campbell and Patridge suffering from gunshot wounds on the 6100 block of Carlos Avenue; Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced both victims dead on the scene.
Campbell and Patridge suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were found in the street, according to CBS News.
Police hadn't disclosed what, if any, relationship there was between Campbell and Patridge, but Devika Patridge, claiming to be Ajani Patridge's sister, posted on Facebook that he and Campbell shared children, including two daughters.
Home security footage captured Campbell and Patridge walking down the road with another man shortly before the shooting, according to Fox Los Angeles affiliate KTTV. One witness said an argument that “sounded very specific” ensued between the suspect and the victims, lasting several minutes.
Cops initially sought a Black man standing about 6 feet tall, of thin build, and wearing a white t-shirt. The then-unknown man was spotted fleeing north on Vista Del Mar Avenue after the shooting.
Authorities launched an overnight aerial search for the suspect, but to no avail, according to KTTV. It was believed that the suspect was still in the immediate area.
Ajani Patridge's sister created a GoFundMe page, claiming he and Campbell left behind five children altogether.
“This tragedy has rocked our entire family, but our main focus is now making sure that each of their children have [sic] a peaceful, loving childhood,” wrote Devika Patridge. “They were happiest when they were with their children.”
On Tuesday, West Bureau Homicide detectives with the LAPD amended their release to name Willams as the prime suspect in hopes of arresting him.
Williams is described as a Black man who is 5’11” and weighs around 160 pounds. He is from the Compton area and has multiple tattoos on his neck.
Authorities warn that he is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, if spotted. Anyone with information about the double-homicide or the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to contact the LAPD West Bureau Homicide officials at 1-213-382-9470.
