Megan Thee Stallion Wants Her Alleged Shooter Tory Lanez To 'Go To Jail'
Megan Thee Stallion says she became the "villain" after being shot in the foot in July 2020, allegedly by fellow rapper Tory Lanez. She opens up in new interview about her trauma.
Hip-Hop superstar Megan Thee Stallion says she wants fellow rapper and former friend Tory Lanez, who allegedly shot her in July of 2020, to go to jail.
“I want him to go to jail,” Megan told Rolling Stone in an extensive interview. “I want him to go under the jail.”
Lanez, 29, has vehemently denied shooting Megan and pleaded not guilty to felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm and carrying an unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The trial is slated to start on Sept. 14.
The 27-year-old rapper opens up about the lingering trauma and physical hardship in the Rolling Stone interview, revealing she has reoccurring dreams and nightmares about the shooting.
"I thought he knew me. And I never would've thought he would've shot me at all," she told the magazine. "I never put my hands on this man. I never did anything to him. There was an argument. People argue every day. Friends argue every day."
Megan told the magazine that she had surgery on the night of the shooting and spent four days in the hospital in California. She had physical therapy to learn how to walk again.
"I still have bullet fragments in my feet right now," she said. "I was very scared that I was not able to be Megan Thee Stallion no more. And I was f—ed up."
The alleged shooting took place after Lanez, Megan and Kelsey Harris, her former best friend from Houston, were driving home from a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s house.
Megan said that after Lanez and Harris started to argue she got out of the car but was coaxed back inside. When the quarrel intensified, she got out of the car, again.
As previously reported by Oxygen.com, LAPD Detective Ryan Stogner testified at a preliminary hearing in December that Lanez yelled, “’Dance B----h, dance,’” before shooting her.
“Megan immediately felt pain to her feet, observed blood, fell to the ground, and then crawled to an adjacent drive of a residence… She described her injuries as bleeding profusely,” Stogner said on the stand, according to Billboard.
Stogner also said that Lanez “apologized” and “offered her money and begged her to please not to say anything and made reference to the fact he was already on probation.”
Megan has said in previous interviews that Lanez offered her and Harris $1 million for their silence.
Fearing for Lanez’s safety, she initially told police that she stepped on glass.
“I feel shame, a little bit, because even after he shot me, I still was thinking about everybody else in the car,” Megan told Rolling Stone. “I thought everybody in the car was my friend, [and] the whole time, that’s not how they thought of me. That’s what really hurts.”
Megan has also endured ridicule on social media and endless rumors about what happened that day and why. Some suggest that she and Harris were both romantically involved with the Canadian rapper and that started the argument.
Lanez appeared to support that claim in a Twitter post: “Good D… had me f…… 2 best friends…and I got caught …that’s what I apologized 4 …it’s sick how u Spun it tho . . .”
That came after Megan posted screenshots of his apology after the shooting, according to Rolling Stone.
Another rampant rumor was that Megan was jealous because Lanez was too friendly and flirty with Jenner at the pool party.
Megan has denied a sexual relationship with Lanez.
"In some kind of way, I became the villain," Megan said. "And I don't know if people don't take it seriously because I seem strong. I wonder if it's because of the way I look. Is it because I'm not light enough? Is it that I'm not white enough? Am I not the shape? The height? Because I'm not petite? Do I not seem like I'm worth being treated like a woman?"
She added: "I'm trying every day to get through it and be good. I feel so bad because I don't feel like anybody's taking me seriously, but I don't want them to see me cry. I don't want them to know that I feel like this, because I don't want them to feel like, 'Oh, I got you. I'm breaking you.'"
Megan said she was looking for family after the deaths of her mother and grandmother shortly after her Savage remix topped the charts for weeks. She bonded with Lanez because his mother died from anemia complications when he was just 11.
“I thought we had a real connection,” she told the magazine. “I thought he knew me. And never would’ve thought he would’ve shot me at all.”
Megan is working on a new album and trying to move forward.
‘I feel like you’ve already tried to break me enough. You’ve already shot me,” she said of Lanez. “So, why are you dragging it out like this? Like, what else? Have you hated me this much the whole time and I didn’t see it?’”
