Suspect Allegedly Confessed To Killing Man With Decorative Brick On The Las Vegas Strip
Malik Price was charged with the murder of Christopher David after police say he confessed to killing the victim with a "large decorative brick."
A Las Vegas man is accused of using a brick to kill another man just off the Las Vegas Strip, before reportedly telling officers he did so “in cold blood.”
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received reports of a “man down,” according to police, just after midnight on Oct. 3. Responding officers found an “unresponsive male suffering from a head wound” at the 4200 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard — on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, across from the Mandalay Bay resort — and pronounced him dead on the scene.
According to court documents obtained by Las Vegas CBS affiliate KLAS, the victim was identified as Christopher David. An investigation allegedly showed the victim was “struck in the head with a brick.” Police described the weapon as a “large decorative brick,” which was found covered in blood at the crime scene.
A couple of witnesses at the scene told responding officers that one had allegedly been punched by the suspect, according to the arrest report. A third man from a nearby Motel 8 — about a block north of where David's body was found — claimed he heard Price rambling about leaving a trail of blood before Price allegedly attempting to sell him a firearm.
Police say they subsequently noticed Malik Price, 27, wandering on Las Vegas Boulevard near the murder scene, allegedly with blood on his pants and shoes. They arrested him.
Officers then attempted to interview Price, but decided it was “going nowhere” when the suspect reportedly began “rapping and rambling about Jesus Christ, Navy SEALS, 9/11, the Koran, and other non-relevant topics,” according to police.

Price’s incoherent statements continued after investigators stopped the interview and attempted to collect a DNA sample from the suspect.
“I did it. I’m a filthy murderer, yup!” Price said, according to the police report. “I hit him upside [the head] with a tombstone. I saw a sign to be a violent gentleman today.”
Body-worn cameras worn by police officers also captured Price confessing to the crime while being transported to jail after the interview, according to KLAS.
“I killed that man in cold blood,” Price allegedly said. “If you let me out of jail, I’ll become a serial killer.”
It was later discovered that blood found on the sole Price’s shoe allegedly matched a bloody footprint found at the crime scene, according to the arrest report.
Jail records obtained by Oxygen.com show Price was booked into the Clark County jail on open murder charges and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 24.
