Domestic Violence Restraining Order Requested Against Queens Of The Stone Age Frontman, Is Reportedly Denied By Two Judges
Josh Homme's ex-wife, Brody Dalle, filed for a restraining order against him on behalf of their two sons, claiming physical and emotional abuse, but was denied by judges in Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
Brody Dalle, the former wife of Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, reportedly filed for a domestic violence restraining order against him on behalf of their two sons but was denied twice in court.
Dalle, 42, filed requests for restraining orders on behalf of the former couple’s two children, who are ages 10 and 5, TMZ reports. The requests were denied by two judges, one in downtown Los Angeles and another in Santa Monica, TMZ reported on Friday.
According to the original request, the 48-year-old musician is accused of physically and verbally abusing the children. Dalle, who fronts the band The Distillers, stated she fears for the two boys' well-being and requested Homme to remain 100 yards away from their children and their dog as well.
The filing also alleges Homme made threats in the presence of his 10-year-old son to kill Dalle’s boyfriend and has driven his children around while drinking alcohol, according to TMZ.
Homme and Dalle’s daughter, who was born in 2006, is not included in the filing.
“Dalle has previously brought these claims to the police, DCFS [Department of Children and Family Services] and the presiding judge of the family law court, all of whom have declined to take any action based upon these spurious claims,” Homme’s lawyer, Susan Wiesner, told TMZ.
Wiesner told Oxygen.com in a statement following the judges’ rejections that “the allegations made by Ms. Dalle against Mr. Homme are categorically false. In order to protect the children, we will not be making any further statements."
The former couple’s relationship, and the end of it, has been rocky. Dalle filed for divorce in November of 2019 citing Homme’s substance abuse. He entered a substance abuse program shortly after, TMZ reported. The following month, Dalle filed a restraining order against Homme, claiming he headbutted her. That order was granted. Homme then filed a restraining order against Dalle, claiming that she had been intentionally showing up around him; he said she was trying to make it look as though he was violating his restraining order. A judge granted that request.
