Investigators Release Video Of Murdered 13-Year-Old Tristyn Bailey Walking With Her Alleged Killer
Investigators also released video taken by teen suspect Aiden Fucci as he sat in the back of a patrol car with a friend.
Authorities have released eerie new video of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey walking with her accused killer, Aiden Fucci, in the early morning hours of May 9 before he allegedly stabbed her to death. They also released video and photos of Fucci smiling and taking selfies in the back of a cop car.
Fucci, 14, has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the grisly slaying of his schoolmate after authorities found her body in a wooded area near a retention pond in St. John’s County on Mother’s Day—the same day she had disappeared.
In the new images released by the 7th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office in Florida as part of the discovery process, two people—believed to be Fucci and Bailey—can be seen walking east on a sidewalk in their Durbin Crossing neighborhood on May 9, according to WTLV-WJXX. It’s the last known image of the 13-year-old alive.
Other surveillance video allegedly captures Fucci running away from the same wooded area, alone, several hours later.
According to State Attorney R.J. Larizza, Bailey was stabbed 114 times and had wounds to her hands, arm and head suggesting she had tried to fight off her attacker, according to WJTX.
New video was also released, seemingly from surveillance video inside Fucci’s home, that show his mother, Crystal Smith, running upstairs and picking up some clothes from a room including a pair of blue jeans. According to an arrest report obtained by Oxygen.com, the video was captured after deputies had taken Fucci from the home for questioning.
Smith, who is facing charges of tampering with evidence, can be seen in the upper right-hand corner of some of the footage appearing to wash the jeans, Law & Crime reports.
The jeans, which Fucci was seen wearing in surveillance images, later tested positive for the presence of blood, according to the arrest report. Bailey’s DNA was also detected on a pair of shoes found in his bedroom, authorities said.
Other footage released by investigators show Fucci and a friend sitting in the back of a patrol car after Bailey went missing.
“Having fun in a f---ing cop car,” Fucci is heard saying, according to the footage.
Then he turns the camera and says “What up guys? Tristyn if you (expletive) walk out the damn…” before the clip abruptly ends.
In another brief clip, Fucci says “They’ve got us in a f---ing cop car … tripping dude” as he looks into the camera.
At a press conference in May, Larizza said multiple witnesses informed investigators that Fucci had told people he planned to kill someone by “taking them into the woods and stabbing them” before the brutal slaying.
During questioning by law enforcement, Fucci allegedly appeared indifferent to the teen’s death before later admitting that she grabbed him when he tried to kiss her. He said he pushed her and she fell and hit her head before he walked away, according to a report obtained by WTLV-WJXX.
In an arrest report obtained by Oxygen.com, authorities said the 14-year-old’s story “changed several times” before he made “several admissions.”
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
