Texas Woman Mysteriously Vanishes With Newborn Baby As Partner Pleads 'I Just Want Her To Come Home'
“Her car … everything’s at the house. The baby stuff … everything,” Heidi Brossard's long-time partner Shane Carey said of the disappearance. “Nothing’s gone except her and the baby.”
A Texas mom and her newborn baby mysteriously vanished Thursday after she was seen dropping her son off at school and her longtime partner is now pleading for answers.
Heidi Broussard, 33, and her 2-week-old daughter Margot Carey were captured on surveillance footage at Cowan Elementary around 7:50 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the Austin Police Department.
Police believe that Broussard, who was wearing a long-sleeve purple shirt, and her daughter later returned to their home, but the pair hasn’t been seen since, police said in a statement.
Shane Carey, Broussard’s partner and Margot’s father, told local station KEYE-TV that he had talked to Broussard around 8 a.m. the morning she disappeared. But when he arrived home from work around 2 p.m., Broussard and his daughter were gone.
His concerns grew when he received a call from the elementary school that Broussard had not picked up their son from school.
“Her car … everything’s at the house. The baby stuff … everything,” he said according to KTVT. “Nothing’s gone except her and the baby.”
Carey told KVUE that there were “no signs of struggle” at the home.
“There’s nothing, no evidence, so we’re just trying to piece it together but there really are no pieces,” he said.
Carey said he and Broussard have been together for about a decade and have two children together. They are also raising his child from another relationship.
"She is an amazing person," he told the local station. "She has amazing support, friends behind her. She's so personable, one of the best people I've ever met, so kind, and she does anything for her kids –– one of the best moms."
He said Broussard’s family has come to Austin from Louisiana to help search for her and the infant.
“I just want her to come home,” Carey said. “She’s amazing. She’s missed. She has her whole family here supporting, praying for her to come home, and hopefully that’s just — I don’t know — somebody to bring her home safe. I don’t care, just drop her off.”
Broussard has been described as 5’3”, weighing 150 pounds, with long dark hair with highlights. Her daughter Margot, is approximately 7 pounds, 7 ounces and 22 inches long.
Anyone with information about the disappearance is urged to contact authorities.
