"Desperately Searching" Families Plead for Answers on Dateline: Missing in America Season 3

The loved ones of six missing people share their harrowing stories with Dateline correspondent Josh Mankiewicz for Season 3 of the award-winning podcast.

From dealing with empty chairs at holidays to begging for loved ones to come home each night before bed, the families of missing persons are sharing their heartbreaking stories for a new season of the Dateline: Missing in America podcast

"They are the families of the missing in America," Dateline correspondent Josh Mankiewicz says in a trailer for the upcoming Season 3. "Celebrating birthdays, but without the guest of honor. And they're desperately searching for answers."

What is Dateline: Missing in America?

The podcast is an extension of the digital series Dateline: Missing in America, which has reported on hundreds of disappearances over the past decade.

When does Season 3 of Dateline: Missing in America premiere?

Season 3 of the award-winning podcast from Dateline NBC will kick off on July 16, with new episodes dropping twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, through August 1. 

The new season highlights complex missing person cases that Dateline's social media followers brought to the attention of those behind the newsmagazine. Each of the six episodes in Season 3 will focus on a different missing person, with Mankiewicz speaking to those who knew them best.

"In each episode, we will focus on one missing persons case, and hear from the families, the friends, and the investigators, all determined to find them," Mankiewicz says in the trailer.

Who will be featured on Dateline: Missing in America Season 3? 

The six missing people featured in Dateline: Missing in America Season 3 are Arelia Garcia, Marcus Rutledge, Tyler Goodrich, Shy’Kemmia Pate, Melanie James, and Terrence Woods, Jr.

The hope is that those listening to the podcast will share information that could help solve the cases. 

"Listen carefully, because just one small detail might allow you to solve a mystery," Mankiewicz says in the Season 3 trailer. "And if you have a new tip, investigators really need to hear it. These families cling to hope, and what you know just might make a difference."

How can I listen to Dateline: Missing in America Season 3?

The first episode will be available to download and stream on any podcast platform on July 16, with the second episode dropping July 18. After that, episodes will premiere twice a week over the following two weeks.
