Fugitive Yoga Instructor Accused Of Killing Pro Cyclist Last Seen At Newark Airport
The U.S. Marshals Service announced that Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, the lead suspect in the murder of Anna Moriah Wilson's, was last seen getting dropped off at Newark Liberty International Airport four days after she flew into New York City's LaGuardia Airport.
A yoga instructor turned fugitive after being accused of killing her boyfriend’s former lover was last seen at Newark Airport, the U.S. Marshals Service had announced.
In a Monday press release, the Marshals stated they learned that Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 34, “was dropped off at the Newark Liberty International Airport May 18, a day after Austin police obtained a warrant for her arrest.”
They elaborate that “a search of outbound flights at the Newark airport revealed no reservations had been made under” her name.
She is accused of murdering cyclist Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson, 25, on May 11 after becoming enraged that her boyfriend, pro cyclist Colin Strickland, 35, had recently been in contact with the woman, according to an arrest affidavit reviewed by Oxygen.com. Strickland and Wilson had a brief, romantic fling in October while Strickland and Armstrong were separated and the two had remained friends after his reconciliation with Armstrong.
Wilson and Strickland allegedly met up in Austin, Texas while racing in the Gravel Locos competition. Hours later, Wilson was found suffering from multiple fatal gunshot wounds in an Austin apartment at which she was staying.
Investigators later determined that Armstrong boarded a flight to Houston from Austin International Bergstrom Airport on May 14 before boarding a connecting flight in Houston to New York's LaGuardia Airport.
Four days later, she was dropped off at the New Jersey airport.
A warrant for Armstrong for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was obtained on May 25. She is the main suspect in the murder of Wilson.
“Kaitlin Armstrong is accused of a very serious crime that she needs to answer for,” U.S. Marshal for the western District of Texas Susan Pamerleau has stated. “The best thing she can do at this point, wherever she is, is surrender to authorities, so she can return safely to Austin and answer the charges against her. She needs to know the Marshals are not going to stop looking for her.”
Armstrong is described as white, and stands 5 feet 8 inches and weighs approximately 125 pounds. She has light brown long, curly hair and hazel eyes. Armstrong was last seen wearing a blue denim jacket, a black shirt with a pink graphic, white jeans, a black face mask and black and white tennis shoes.
Anyone with information on Armstrong’s whereabouts is urged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102 or submit a tip using the USMS Tips app. Tips can also be sent to the Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 1-800-893-8477. A $5,000 reward is available for information leading to her arrest.
